American Tulip Poplar – Liriodendron tulipifera
4/4 Select & Better, Kiln Dried, Pre-Dimensioned, S4S (Smooth on 4-Sides)
Poplar sapwood can be very wide, and tends to be a beige or light brown; not always clearly or sharply demarcated from heartwood. The wood is generally straight-grained with a coarse uniform texture.
Note: freshly milled poplar can have a sage green cast, dark purple streaks, and red and yellow tones. The wood naturally oxidizes to shades of brown from light to dark sienna when exposed to natural light.
