Casing is used to frame door and window openings, forming a visual foundation that is important in establishing the character of a room.

Casings should be complimentary to the other room trims and proportionately sized approximately 1/3 smaller than the base (for example: A 3-1/4" casing would be appropriate with a 5-1/4" base mould.)  It is equally important to allow plenty of room between your electric boxes (and/or wall area) and your cased door openings to accommodate the width of your casing.

Hint: When calculating footage requirements, don't forget to measure both sides of each interior door opening. Decorative plinths, rosettes and keystones are also used with casings.

Alternate species available and quoted on request. Due to our diverse offering and customized nature of our mouldings, most profiles are milled to order unless marked as "stock".  Stock mouldings and over runs are available without per item minimum footage requirements or setup fees.

Please keep in mind that many of our mouldings may be slightly modified to match an existing pattern. However, if you are unable to locate a particular item, we can affordably replicate an existing profile with just a sketch or sample trim piece. Please contact us with your special requests.

Mouldings are precision milled to order from the finest grade, kiln dried hardwoods. Each order is stretch wrapped into hand manageable bundles and banded for shipment.
