Corner Blocks provide a strong architectural impact. Common to
the Victorian era, Corner Blocks are also used in numerous modern
day applications. Used to decoratively dress baseboard corners and
eliminate the need for complicated mitered joints. Corner blocks
can also be used as a ceiling block when using a smaller crown mould.
Intermittent Blocks are used to decoratively join shorter pieces
of baseboard on a longer wall spans without the need for complicated
back mitered cuts.
How to properly
size corner and intermittent blocks:
Thickness:
A minimum of 3/16" thicker than the adjoining baseboard.
Height:
A minimum of 1" taller than the adjoining baseboard. |
